In this class, a variety of aspects of TMJ will be covered including: anatomy of TMJ, causes of TMJ, and related syndromes and pathologies that have TMJ as part of the particular illness. Hands-on treatment for TMJ will be taught using various modalities such as Myofascial release work, deep tissue massage, CST, and postural integration. The difference between TMJ and Myofascial face pain syndrome will also be covered and explored, with treatment regiems to incorporate into the massage therapy session. Students will also learn self help techniques for to give to their clients. In addition, the instructor will discuss some of her own case studies of clients who suffered with TMJ and due to treatment have less pain and discomfort. Students should bring to class sheets and lotion or oil, note pad and pen.
